It is a headline that is often seen when high school sports get underway: “High school football player dies”. It is estimated that more than 100 student athletes die every year from cardiac issues. Considering the number of students who play football, that number is not that high, however, we wanted to take a closer look at what can be done to help prevent those deaths.
